Hit me with your best shot

For my birthday our family (both mine and Jeff's) all went in together and got me a new camera. Thank you family. I am so excited about, especially because now I can finally take the quintessential I-Am-A-Scrapbooker photo of myself holding my camera in a mirror, like this:
 

Only scrapbookers will find that funny. For the rest of you, now you know what I look like when I step out of the shower and start taking photos of myself in the bathroom mirror. You're welcome.

In little light news, there's some free labels, free digital stamps and a free tutorial up today.

Also, my new online photo editing class starts today! It's a 2 week, $15 class with bonus editing kit & photobook. Wilna's daughter is the model for our promo shots, isn't she precious?

How To: Bling Out Your Blog

 
So it's here! I'm teaching this new online workshop with Wilna starting on April 12.  We've completely re-vamped the course (so it's current with the latest Blogger/Typepad changes) and I am just in love with it.

The workshop has over 20 lessons on the basics of blogging, including configuration, posting and the fun part...design! We've included two sets of banners and backgrounds as a part of the class and we'll also teach you how to make your own. And this year we've added a 50+ page workbook to the class. The workbook focuses the business aspect of blogging. Here is a sneak peek and my excerpt from the class description about the workbook:

 In it, you'll read about the different techniques you can use to define your brand, grow your readership, and use social media to your benefit as well as how to monetize your blog. You'll also learn how to best use your blog to promote your business, get press coverage and gain new clients. The workbook is set up as a combination of lessons and assignments and includes 52 writing prompts!

The worst part about my day job is when I have rude clients. That is why I like to read this blog about ridiculous client stories on my lunch break.

My friend Nikki's blog is full of eye candy. I keep bookmarking things I want to decorate my house with. I like to keep those things on the "maybe Jeff will let me buy this with our tax return" list. Except I'm pretty sure he is going to insist on getting curtains, especially since I keep forgetting that we don't have curtains when I walk into the kitchen for a midnight snack. In my undies.

Have you bought anything from Alice.com? Their pretty box and free shipping is alluring and I'd like to know if anyone else has had a good experience from there. Because I'm entertaining the idea of a relationship. One that provides me with lots and lots of shampoo.

I am teaching a free class online at Little Light Studio. You can take the class at anytime, you don't have to be online at a specific time, and you can wear your pajamas. Actually, I'm teaching the class in pajama pants that have pictures of donuts on them and Jeff's junior high basketball jersey. I am not teaching a class about fashion.

Tutorial: Paperback Christmas Trees

 

I am absolutely covered in glitter. I've been making these Christmas trees out of old paperback books! I put together a tutorial to share with you! Check it out here if you are interested, they are cute, inexpensive and environmentally friendly! I really hope you like them.

These vintage book pages are really showing up in my holiday decor this year: wreaths, trees, ornaments... it's very indicative of my scrapbooking style and I'm a crazy reader so it fits me well. Plus, if I decorated the house in Jeff's hobbies, I'd have to use tennis rackets and video games and I just can't make those into cute decor.
